These stairs are made out of American Ash, blunting all of my tools in the process. The bottom two steps are called dance steps. The third one was a bullnose step and they were all curved and finished with varnish.
I have recently been involved with a project to renovate a room in a 17th Century Italian style house in Mathern. The client required a pair of doors to be made to fit in with the style of the rest of the house.
Roof and timber framed construction above an existing kitchen in Woodcroft. This provided an additional 3 rooms to the house without affecting the existing footings. A traditional block extension would not have been permitted in this case, due to the weight of the materials used.
From start to finish, a straightforward project like this would take approximately three months.
