Garden Building and Office Space

This building was constructed within permitted development guidelines. It is 36 m2 floor area with plenty of space for hobbies or home working. It is built above the ground on block piers and is highly insulated with the minimum of heating required to keep warm in winter. All windows are made to current building regulations and the interior is fitted out with storage. This one has a sauna and wet room at one end with drainage to a soak away.

These can be built to your own specifications or designed specifically for you. The main shell would be constructed on site with purpose made joinery finished in our own workshops.

Purpose built for a holiday home near Ledbury

Ledbury Windows

The first of many windows for a 16th Century property near Ledbury.

New windows for Woodcroft. All made in softwood with internal frame detail.

Old Post Office Shop Front in Chepstow

The old post office has been converted into new office space housing Properts and Galbraith solicitors. The existing windows were all removed and replaced with a new entrance following strict listings guidelines. The style and use of the existing leadlights had to be retained resulting in a stylish old building providing the top of the town with a new, clean bright image.

Large Barn Conversion

This monastic grain store for Tintern Abbey has been converted into four residential dwellings. I was commissioned to make all the external joinery which included 16 windows, 4 sets of french doors, 4 front doors, 2 floor to roof screens, one of which is shown above. All internal staircases I made from American Ash and external joinery from Idigbo.

Small Conservatory

This tiny conservatory was built in the workshop and made to squeeze into a tiny existing back yard. It fitted around existing stone walls and used up every little bit of available space. This small improvement made a huge difference to the warmth of the house as the back elevation was single glazed.

Stairs

These stairs are made out of American Ash, blunting all of my tools in the process. The bottom two steps are called dance steps. The third one was a bullnose step and they were all curved and finished with varnish.

Reproduction Work

I have recently been involved with a project to renovate a room in a 17th Century Italian style house in Mathern. The client required a pair of doors to be made to fit in with the style of the rest of the house.

Front Door

This is the front door to my house, under construction in my old workshop. It was constructed to include a lead light designed and made by myself.

Chunky Window

This chunky stone mullion effect window was made for a house near Hereford. The owner wanted it to have the same look as an old stone window.

Roof Construction

Roof and timber framed construction above an existing kitchen in Woodcroft. This provided an additional 3 rooms to the house without affecting the existing footings. A traditional block extension would not have been permitted in this case, due to the weight of the materials used.

From start to finish, a straightforward project like this would take approximately three months.

Windows and Screens in Tidenham

All screens and windows in this extension were constructed from Idigdo and stained in dark Oak. The cladding is natural red cedar.
